Sermon:
Journey Through The Early Church - Lesson 1

Activity: Defend The Tower

  • Split in the room into 2 teams red and blue, Then on each team designate some to be attackers and some defenders.

  • Attackers’ Goal: Knock down the tower by throwing balls at it from outside the defense zone.

  • Defenders’ Goal: Each will get a mini lacrosse stick to block or catch the balls to prevent the tower from falling.

  • Game Time: Play for 3-5 minutes per round or until the tower falls.

  • No Physical Contact: Attackers cannot enter the defense zone or physically touch the tower.

  • Zones: On each side, create a zone around the table with the tower on it that nobody can enter, then create another zone around that one, this is the defenders zone. Defenders must stay inside of the defender zone but outside the tower zone. The attackers cannot enter the defenders zone or the tower zone.

  • Reset & Switch: After each round, switch roles so everyone gets a turn defending and attacking. â€‹

Week 2 (April 12th)

Sermon:

Journey Through The Early Church - Lesson 2

Activity: Crown Clash

  • Split into two teams, using 36 shared foam ball blasters, plenty of foam balls, baskets, cones, and one crown per team; the play area is divided into home base, midfield, and enemy territory, with each team’s crown placed in their home base and baskets spread across the field as foam-ball receivers that act as neutral collection points without special rewards.

  • The goal is to steal the opposing team’s crown and safely return it to your home base, but the crown carrier cannot use a blaster and must walk, dropping the crown if hit.

  • Players hit by a foam ball must immediately drop their blaster, raise a hand, and go to a designated respawn zone, where they wait two minutes before re-entering play.

  • Blasters are shared, so players without one can collect ammo, guard baskets, or defend the crown, and safety rules include no head shots, no physical contact, no camping, and adult refs overseeing zones.

  • The game runs in 10–12 minute rounds, best of three, with victory awarded to the first team to capture the crown or the team with the most crown progress if time expires.

Activity: Extreme Snowball Battle

Snowball battle is dodgeball but with snowballs.

  • Split the room into two teams.

  • Make a boundary for each team and some obstructions to use as shields (tables or chairs).

  • During the Battle they can go anywhere in the room.

  • Once a person gets hit anywhere on their body, including their head, they are out. They must leave the battle zone and line up on the side or go to a designated jail area.

  • For jailbreak, they can all go back in.

  • A team wins when all the opposing players are knocked out.

  • Once you have a winner, switch sides. If no one gets a jailbreak, then the leader can call Jailbreak so no one gets bored.

Variations: boys vs. girls, leaders vs. kids, free-for-all.

Week 4 (April 26th)

Sermon:

Journey Through The Early Church - Lesson 4

Activity: Giant Ball Conquest

  • Divided into four teams, each assigned one big ball, and the play area is split into four home zones with a central neutral zone; the objective is for teams to work together to move their ball from the center into their home zone while preventing the other teams from doing the same by blocking, redirecting, or stealing control of the balls using hands only (no kicking or tackling).

  • Players may not hold the ball for more than three seconds and must keep it moving by rolling, pushing, or passing it, and if a player falls or breaks a rule they must return to the center before rejoining play.

  • The game is played in fast rounds of 5–7 minutes, with points awarded each time a team successfully gets their ball into their zone, emphasizing teamwork, communication, and controlled chaos while maintaining safety with no physical contact, no diving, and adult refs monitoring boundaries.
