Sahara Detailed Breakdown
Monday
Sermon: Who is Jesus? Lesson 1

Activity: Hoop Relay
On “GO!”, the first player from each team runs to the tossing line (or up to the pole), aims, and throws their item into one of the 5 baskets.
The player only gets 1 toss per turn, so they must decide:
-
Go for an easy 1- or 2-point shot?
-
Or take a risk and aim for 4 or 5?
After their toss, the player runs back, tags the next teammate, and rejoins the line.
Continue until everyone has gone once or play a set number of rounds.

Sermon: Who is Jesus? Lesson 2

Activity: Red Light Green Light
-
When the leader says “Green Light!” (or shows the green sign), kids move forward (run, walk, drive, or waddle like cars).
-
When the leader says “Red Light!” (or shows the red sign), everyone must freeze immediately.
-
If someone keeps moving after red light is called, they:
-
Go back to the start (for older kids), or
-
Take a silly detour like spinning in place (for younger ones).
-
-
First player to reach the finish line wins the round and can become the next Traffic Officer.
FUN “TRAFFIC JAM” VARIATIONS:
1. Yellow Light!
Call out “Yellow Light!” = move in slow motion
Super fun to act out and adds variety to the game!
2. Traffic Jam!
Shout “TRAFFIC JAM!” and everyone has to:
-
Stop and honk like a car (“beep beep!”), or
-
Turn around in circles like they’re lost, then get back on track
3. Obstacle Course Mode
Add cones, tunnels, or hula hoops between start and finish — players must obey lights while navigating a "road" full of silly obstacles.

Sermon: Who is Jesus? Lesson 3
Activity: Freeze Musical Chairs
Start the Music
Kids dance around the chairs — silly moves encouraged!
Pause the Music
When the music stops, kids must:
-
Freeze immediately, just like in Freeze Dance.
-
Then try to find a chair to sit on.
One player left standing?
-
Either have them do a fun challenge to get back in (like hopping or spinning),
-
OR let them stay in and remove another chair to keep the game moving (great for younger kids who don’t enjoy being “out”).

The next child takes their turn

Toss the balls gently in the air
Treasure Hunt
On “GO!”, let a few kids at a time enter the ball pit.
Their goal: Find as many rubber ducks and chickens as they can!
Once they find one, they bring it back to a basket or to a leader.
After a few minutes, rotate in the next group.
